Description

"Far above us, they are the souls of our ancestors, the spirits of the sky, and the eyes of the gods…as long as the stars shine in the night sky…there is hope."

This is my poster design for a proposed theatrical big screen Samurai Jack feature film that is to properly conclude Samurai Jack’s so-called quest “to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku!”—presumably to be titled “The Once and Future Samurai" or something like that or just simply Samurai Jack.

Even if it may take over 20 or 30 years from Samurai Jack’s abrupt cancellation to the time Samurai Jack will finally reach the big screen of movie theaters, and even if Genndy Tartakovsky may or may not live any longer to see his dream of Samurai Jack getting a proper ending in the form of a theatrical big screen feature film come true…

I might end up making sure that Genndy Tartakovsky’s dream to properly conclude Samurai Jack’s quest to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku with a theatrical big screen feature film will be fulfilled (and if so Samurai Jack might finally evolve from an animated TV show to a comic book series from IDW to the format that Genndy Tartakovsky originally intended to do: properly conclude the show with a theatrical big screen feature film in which Jack finally returns to the past and undo the future that is Aku)…

And that such a feature film might become a very good standalone feature film project for the big screen of movie theaters and not just a proper closure to all the original episodes on Cartoon Network and/or the comic books from IDW.

But I never truly imagine or predict that the theatrical big screen Samurai Jack feature film might succeed beyond even the wildest dreams of Tartakovsky or even the wildest dreams of his fans or the wildest dreams of Samurai Jack fans, let alone surpass the likes of Disney’s Frozen (2013), The Lion King (1994), DreamWorks’ Shrek 2 (2004), Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) or even James Cameron’s Avatar (2009) and Titanic (1997), not only as the biggest, highest grossing and most successful animated movie in cinema history, but also one of, or if not, the most successful movie(s)—animated cartoon, live action or both—in cinema history, and to the point to either scaring Disney, James Cameron and/or other companies and filmmakers—Hollywood or otherwise—enough to start trying to step up their game even more or also inspiring them (or even some) to do something similar.

We may never know whether or not a theatrical big screen Samurai Jack feature film might succeed beyond even the wildest dreams of Genndy Tartakovsky and/or his fans!
